Why do we talk more about epilation and less about depilation at Depilève?
You have probably been surprised to read "epilation" on Depilève's website or social media pages and may have wondered if we have "forgotten" a letter. The answer is no, you have read it correctly. The word "EPILATION" means removing the hair completely, including its follicle which, as you already know, is the root. "DEPILATION" is a generic term referring to any method of hair removal, whether they remove hair from the root or not. Methods that do not remove hair from the root are shavers and hair removal creams, while those that do remove it from the root include electric razors, tweezers and professional treatments such as waxing, threading, sugaring, electric epilation, laser and IPL. At DEPILÈVE, we are fans of the word "EPILATE", synonymous with professionalism, quality and efficiency, which has always been our personal brand and what puts waxing into the professional category it deserves. And that is why epilation has so many benefits compared with other hair removal methods. For example: • Epilation weakens the hair and makes it grow back slower and finer. So, the more you epilate with Depilève, the less you will have to epilate overall. • Deilève waxes nourish the skin, leaving it smooth, supple and protected. As well as removing the hair, they treat skin according to its type and characteristics. • The temperature of our waxes has been developed to protect you from potential burns. • The technique used by our professionals and the quality of our waxes mean you will barely feel any pain. • Epilation can also be used to depigment areas that have previously been waxed or shaved.
